Matthew Jones

Matthew Jones is the Division Chief of the Global Markets Analysis Division at the IMF. The division is responsible for the IMF’s surveillance and analysis of global financial markets, and produces the lead chapter of the IMF’s Global Financial Stability Report. He has worked at the IMF for the last 17 years covering financial stability issues, and for the last five years has focused on global financial markets. Prior to joining the IMF he worked in the Research Department of the Reserve Bank of Australia. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland and a PhD in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
