Michael Klein

Michael W. Klein is the William L. Clayton Professor of International Economic Affairs at the Fletcher School, Tufts University. From June 2010 to December 2011 he served as Chief Economist in the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Treasury. He is also a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the International Monetary Fund, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of International Economics. He received a B.A from Brandeis University and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. His research focuses on exchange rate policy, foreign direct investment, international capital mobility, the effects of international factors on labour markets, and the political business cycle.
