Michael Vlassopoulos is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Southampton. He holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia. His main research interests lie in the area of applied microeconomics, in particular, public and development economics. Current work focuses on a theoretical and experimental investigation of the sources and implications of pro-social motivation, and on identifying the long-run effects of climate on economic development. His research has been funded by the ESRC and the British Academy.
