Morten Jerven is Professor in Development Studies at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and Visiting Professor in Economic History at Lund University. He has a PhD in Economic History from the London School of Economics and has published widely on African economic development, particularly on patterns of economic growth and on economic development statistics.
