Nick Johnstone

Nick Johnstone is the Chief Statistician at the International Energy Agency (IEA) where he leads the Energy Data Centre defining and implementing efficient and effective strategies for collecting, processing and disseminating a wide range of energy data and statistics. Prior to joining the IEA, Dr Johnstone was Head of Division at the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development with main responsibilities including supporting the work of the Committee on Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as well as subsidiary bodies working on sectoral issues. He was responsible for managing and implementing projects on policy evaluation, entrepreneurship, innovation and global value chains and application of digital technologies for public policies. Nick holds a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
