Nicolas Carnot

Nicolas Carnot has worked since 2011 as an adviser on fiscal policies in DG ECFIN at the European Commission. His recent policy work and publications focus on fiscal rules and fiscal policies, in particular in the European Economic and Monetary Union. He previously served for two years at the International Monetary Fund on financial assistance programs and for twelve years in the French Treasury, including as deputy director for employment and social policies and as head of macroeconomic forecasts. He has co-authored Economic Forecasting and Policy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2nd ed. 2011). He is a graduate from the Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau and from ENSAE Paris Tech.
