Nikos Askitas is Coordinator of Data and Technology at the IZA - Institute of Labor Economics in Bonn Germany. As head of the Institute’s Research Data Center (IDSC) he is responsible for all data and technology matters while working as a mathematician, data scientist and economist, he explores new avenues for research and policy in labor economics as well as in social science more broadly, using digital data and novel econometric methods. He is a member of the CESifo Research Fellow Network in the area of Economics of Digitization and a member of the Editorial Board of PLoS ONE, serving as an Academic Editor in Economics. His current research interests include game theory, statistics, adaptive systems, web and big data, forecasting/nowcasting, technology and labor, etc.
