Nikos Nikiforakis is Professor of Economics at New York University in Abu Dhabi, and Co-Director of the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of London in 2006. Prior to joining NYU Abu Dhabi, Nikiforakis held senior positions at the University of Melbourne in Australia, the Max Planck Institute in Bonn Germany, and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in France.
His research interests are in behavioral public economics. His work has been published in leading international journals such as Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, American Economic Review, European Economic Review, and Journal of Public Economics. He has served on the editorial boards of several international journals in economics. He was starting Co-Editor-in-Chief at the Journal of the Economic Science Association. Currently, he is Associate Editor at the European Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Psychology, and on the editorial board of the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics.
