Nishant Yonzan is a consultant to the Poverty and Inequality team in the Development Economics Data Group at the World Bank, contributing to the group’s global agenda on measuring poverty and inequality. His research focuses on the causes, consequences, and measurement of poverty and inequality. Nishant is interested in the study of institutions--in particular, how institutions shape society, how societal forces mold and interact with institutions, and how these interactions mold the distribution of income and wealth. Nishant holds a doctorate in economics from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
