Nori Tarui is an associate professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a research fellow at the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization (UHERO). He also holds visiting positions at Waseda University and Kyushu University. Prior to his current position, he was a fellow in the Earth Institute at Columbia University (2004-06). He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota in 2004. His research expertise covers environmental and resource economics and energy economics. He has published several articles in leading academic journals including Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Journal of Development Economics, and Economic Theory. He has served on the editorial boards for Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, International Review of Environmental and Resource Economics, and Environmental Economics and Policy Studies.
