Pablo A. Acosta is a Senior Economist in the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice of the World Bank. An Argentinean national, he holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the US. Prior to the World Bank, he worked at CAF Latin American Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Ministry of Economy in Argentina, and the Foundation for Latin American Economic Research. His main areas of expertise are social protection, labor policies, migration, and skills development. Pablo has several peer-reviewed academic journal publications, including the Journal of International Economics, Labour Economics, Economic Development and Cultural Change, World Development, Journal of Development Studies, and World Economy, among others, as well as book chapters in several World Bank publications. He is also a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), and an Associate Editor for EconomiA, a Brazilian economic journal.
