Patrik Tingvall

Chief Economist at Swedish National Board of Trade

Patrik Tingvall is a Professor in economics, specialized in international economics and micro econometrics. Tingvall holds since 2018 a position as Chief Economist at the National Board of Trade Sweden. Before taking up his current position, he held a position as Professor in economics at Södertörn University and Director of the graduate studies program. Tingvall holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics 2001. In the past, he was a Researcher at the European Institute of Japanese Studies at the Stockholm School of Economics, Affiliated Researcher at Copenhagen Business School, Head of Research at the Ratio Institute, start-up member of the Stockholm China Economic Research Institute (SCERI) at the Stockholm School of Economics, and Affiliated Researcher at Centre of Excellence for Science and Innovation Studies (CESIS) at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). Tingvall has also worked for Growth Analysis Sweden, a governmental agency specialized in industrial policy and evaluation of industrial policy incentives.
