Peter Ekamper is a Senior Research Associate at the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI), which is part of the Dutch Royal Academy of Sciences (KNAW). He is also affiliated with the University of Groningen. His research expertise covers historical demography, spatial analysis, and demographic projections and modelling. His research focuses amongst others on war and famine related excess mortality and long-term effects of famine exposure on health and mortality. He holds a PhD in Spatial Sciences from the University of Groningen.
