Philip Vermeulen

Philip Vermeulen is a Professor of Economics at University of Canterbury and a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (Australian National University). Before joining University of Canterbury, he taught at Auckland University of Technology from 2020 to 2023 and was an economist at European Central Bank from 1999 to 2020. He obtained his Ph.D. at Stanford University in 1999. He is an empirical macroeconomist whose main interest is in the role of heterogeneity in firms and households in the aggregate economy.
