Pierella Paci

Lead Economist at The World Bank

Pierella Paci is the Sector Manager of the Gender and Development Group at the World Bank. Between 2001 and 2010 she was Lead Economist in the Poverty Reduction Group (PRMPR) and in the Europe and Central Asia region where she led work on employment, migration, poverty and gender. Before joining the World Bank, Pierella had been Professor of Economics at the University of Sussex (UK) and at City University (London). She has written extensively in the areas of labour economics, gender economics, inequality and poverty She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Rome (Italy) and a PhD in economics from the University of Manchester (UK).
