Pierre Monnin

Senior Economist, Financial Markets Analysis Unit at Swiss National Bank (SNB)

Pierre Monnin is a Senior Economist in the Financial Markets Analysis unit of the Swiss National Bank (SNB). Before joining this unit in 2010, he worked for Man Investments as a Quantitative Researcher (2009-2010) and for the SNB as an Economist in the Financial Stability unit (2002-2008). He graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Zurich in 2008, with a MSc. in Economics from Queen Mary, University of London in 2001 and with a MSc. in Statistics from the University of Neuchâtel in 1999. His main research interests focus on the definition and measurement of banking sector stability, as well as the links between the banking sector stability and the real economy. He also worked on the empirical estimation of new asset pricing models derived from the behavioral finance theory.
