Pınar Güneş

Pınar Mine Güneş is an Instructor in the Department of Economics at the University of Alberta. She received her PhD (2014) from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has consulted at several institutions, including the World Bank, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the University of Pennsylvania. Her primary research areas are in development economics, labour and demographic economics, and health economics. Her research examines the role of public policies, particularly education and health policies, in socioeconomic outcomes that are important to policy makers, including labour force participation, human capital formation, fertility, and parental investment in children. Her research has been published in academic journals, such as Economics of Education Review and The B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy. She teaches courses in development economics and health economics.
