Raman Ahmed

Raman Ahmed is currently the economist covering Africa at Pharo Management, a Hedge Fund Group. His work includes ecometric analyses of global macroeconomic developments and African macroeconomic and political analyses as well as generating strategic investment ideas for the region. His previous work experiences include Investment Analyst at Jackdaw developing quantitative trading strategies, Financial analyst at Goldman Sachs. He is a Coauthor/Research Assistant for Heleen Mees (NYU and Tilburg University), assisting with econometric and cointegration analyses. Before that, he has assisted Prof Eddy van Doorslaer and Dr Tom van Ourti with the econometric analyses in inequality in China as well as Dr Liesbeth Noordegraaf-Eelens with the econometric analysis in Central Bank Presidents’ speech (both at Erasmus University Rotterdam). He has graduated with high merit from the London School of Economics and Political Science in Financial Mathematics and has finished his bachelor and master in Econometrics cum laude, next to experiences at SOLVE (previously SECEUR), student consulting firm for non-profit organisations; EUREOS, in a commission for this study association for Entrepeneurship, Organisation and Strategy; at Erasmus University Rotterdam as a participant and subsequently student assistant for the Bachelor Honours Class and at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
