Dr. Ramiro Gálvez is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. He graduated as a Bachelor of Economics (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba) in 2007, he obtained a Master's degree in Economic Development (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) in 2008, he obtained a Master's degree in Data Mining (Universidad de Buenos Aires) in 2016 and the title of Doctor from the University of Buenos Aires (in Computer Science) in 2021. His research interests focus on studying how machine learning and natural language processing techniques (the latter applied to both text and speech) can be used to study complex behavioral and social phenomena. His work has been published in high impact international conferences and scientific journals, including: The Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Speech Communications, Journal of Informetrics, Economic Inquiry, SigDial, Scientometrics, Interspeech, among others. In addition, Prof. Gálvez has carried out consulting work both in Argentina and abroad for Despegar.com, European Center for International Political Economy (ECIPE), Gire S.A., The Inter-American Development Bank and Jamaica Public Service Limited.
