Raphael Abiry is a Research Economist in the climate team in Monetary Analysis at the Bank of England since 2022. Prior to this he held a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Goethe University Frankfurt, where he received his PhD in 2021. He held prior positions at the European Central Bank and the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW). He studies productivity effects of the net-zero transition, climate change mitigating effects of green monetary policy, as well as the effects of demographic change on growth and interest rates and the output effects of social security systems,.
