London Representative at International Monetary Fund

Reinout De Bock works in the IMF’s Global Markets Analysis Division, covering global financial markets from London. He also contributes to the IMF’s Global Financial Stability Report. Reinout returned to the IMF in October 2019 after 3.5 years at Pharo, a macro hedge fund. In his role of Chief Economist at Pharo, he helped to shape global views in fixed income and currency markets and managed the economic research team. Other work experience includes G-10 FX strategist at Lehman/Barclays (2008-09), and assignments in the National Bank of Belgium, the ECB and the Federal Reserve. He holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University.
