Richard Frensch is Head of the Dept. of Economics at the Regensburg based Institute of East and Southeast European Studies (IOS), Professor of Economics at the University of Regensburg, and Managing Editor of Economic Systems, published by Elsevier. During his professional career, he has on several occasions been seconded to perform advisory functions for the governments of the Czech Republic and Ukraine and also worked for the United Nations. Main areas of research are international trade, growth and convergence. He received his doctorate from the University of Munich (LMU).
