Richard Reid

Honorary Research Fellow at University Of Dundee

Dr Reid is an Honorary Research Fellow in finance, banking and regulation at the University of Dundee and a Research Associate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. From June 2009 to November 2012 he was Head of Research and Chief Economist for the International Centre for Financial Regulation. Prior to joining the ICFR Dr Reid was a Managing Director in the economics department of Citigroup for nine years. Before Citigroup he was the Chief International Economist for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette for three years, having been the Chief European Economist for UBS for 15 years. For two years Dr Reid served as a Special Adviser to the UK Parliament’s Treasury & Civil Service Select Committee on international monetary affairs. After serving as a Research Assistant in the economics department at the University of Strathclyde, he moved on to become the Chief Economist for a leading Scottish insurance company, the Scottish Provident. He has a Ph.D. and M.Sc., both in financial economics, from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, and an M.A. (Hons) in Economic History from the University of Aberdeen.
