Romain Lafarguette is an economist in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund, where he works on issues related to international finance, financial modeling and central banks operations. He has been on IMF missions to East Asia, Latin America, the Balkans and the Middle East. Before joining the Fund, he worked for the European Central Bank, in market operations and financial regulation divisions. He holds a PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics and Peking University, and graduated in applied mathematics and statistics from ENSAE; he is a former student of the Ecole Normale Superieure Paris-Saclay.
