Ronald Albers

Directorate Policy Strategy and Co-ordination at European Commission

Ronald Albers has extensive experience in central banking and economic policy making. He held various positions in the European Commission (Directorate General Economic and Financial Affairs), and is currently working in the Directorate Policy Strategy and Co-ordination. Prior to that he held positions as Senior Economist at the European Central Bank and at De Nederlandsche Bank. Before that Mr. Albers was a Researcher for the NWO Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research. Ronald Albers obtained a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Groningen. His research interests and publications cover a broad range of issues, including economic growth and convergence, the impact of new technologies, business cycle analysis, monetary and exchange rate policies, and economic and financial crises.
