Said Bakhache is Deputy Division Chief in the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department of the International Monetary Fund. His current focus is on sovereign debt issues including public debt sustainability analysis. He also covers issues related to IMF-supported program design, and sovereign-financial linkages. Said worked at the Executive Board of the IMF where he covered a broad range of policy and county issues. He earned his PhD in economics from the University of Maryland in the U.S.
