Sebastián Sosa

Senior Economist in the European Department at International Monetary Fund

Sebastián Sosa is Senior Economist in the European Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), currently working on Spain. He previously served in the Western Hemisphere Department, focusing on macroeconomic issues in Latin America. Prior to joining the IMF, he spent four years as a Researcher at the Center for the Study of Economic and Social Affairs (CERES), a not-for-profit independent public policy think tank in Uruguay, where he also was an Assistant Professor (macroeconomics) at the Universidad de la República. His areas of expertise and research interests include international macroeconomics and finance. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from UCLA in 2006.
