Simon is a computational and complexity scientist working at the intersection of computer science, economics, and complexity. He has wide-ranging interests, thematically linked by complexity and technology. Together with colleagues from SoDa Laboratories at Monash University, Simon co-founded and leads engineering and outreach for the Monash IP Observatory, which makes over 3 billion observations daily on the activity and quality of the internet, leading to a unique stream of data for empirical analysis and impact. The Observatory team also co-founded SoDa Laboratories, a lab dedicated to alternative and big data in the social sciences.
