Skander Van den Heuvel

Skander Van den Heuvel is a Deputy Associate Director in the Division of Financial Stability of the Federal Reserve Board. Before joining the Federal Reserve in 2008, Skander was an Assistant Professor in the Finance Department of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has also served as an Adviser in the European Central Bank’s Research department and he is a Fellow of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. His research focuses on bank capital and liquidity regulation, interest rate risk at banks, and the role of banks in monetary transmission and the economy. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.
