Stephane Saussier

Professor of Economics and Public Management at Sorbonne Business School

Stéphane Saussier is a Professor of Economics and Public Management at IAE Paris – Sorbonne Business School and a member of the LAB-IAE research center since 2008. He serves as the Scientific Director of the Economics of Public-Private Partnerships research group (since 2009) and has been the Director of the Global Executive MBA at IAE de Paris since 2016. Additionally, he has been a member of the Scientific Council of the French Observatory of Public Procurement (Observatoire Économique de la Commande Publique) since 2018. Previously, Stéphane Saussier was a Professor at the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University (2020–2022), and led the Water Project at the Florence School of Regulation (2014–2020). He has been an active contributor to public policy debates, serving as a Scientific Advisor at the French Council of Economic Analysis (Conseil d’Analyse Économique) between 2007–2013 and as a member of the Board of the International Society of New Institutional Economics (2007–2010). Notably, one of his key reports for the Conseil d’Analyse Économique (2015), co-authored with Nobel Laureate Jean Tirole, focused on improving public procurement efficiency. He is also regularly involved in reports for international institutions such as the OECD, the United Nations, and the European Parliament.
