Stephen Millard

Deputy Director at National Institute of Economic and Social Research

Stephen Millard is the Deputy Director for Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, a Visiting Professor at the Durham University Business School and at Portsmouth University and a research affiliate of the Centre for Macroeconomics.  His main areas of research currently are the macroeconomic effects of climate change and climate policy, monetary and macroprudential policy, and the links between private and public investment and productivity growth.  In addition to carrying out his own research, he runs the Macroeconomics team at NIESR, producing their quarterly forecasts and UK and Global Economic Outlooks, as well as directing macroeconomic research at NIESR.  He has a PhD from Northwestern University, where he studied with the late Nobel Laureate Dale Mortensen.
