Suchanan Tambunlertchai is an Economist in the Western Hemisphere Department at the International Monetary Fund, where she covers the United States and Puerto Rico. She joined the IMF in 2011 and has worked on a range of issues in both advanced and emerging markets, including market power, public debt sustainability, reserve adequacy, and international competitiveness. Prior to joining the IMF, Suchanan worked as a Business Analyst at First Manhattan Consulting Group in New York and a Volunteer Consultant at the non-profit TechnoServe in Swaziland. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago and an A.B. in economics from Harvard University.
