Susanne Droege

Susanne Droege is a Senior Fellow in the Global Issues Division at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin. Susanne is specialised in energy, climate and international economics and has a long-standing work experience on trade and environment, including economic policy instruments. She advises the German Parliament, the German Government and International Organisations (WTO, UNEP, OECD) on climate policy issues. Her research focuses on emissions trading, EU’s, US’s, and other countries' climate policy strategies, the UNFCCC negotiations, security policy implications from climate change, as well as trade (policy) implications of NDCs and the Paris Agreement. Susanne holds a PhD in economics and teaches university classes in environmental and resource economics.
