Taneli Mäkinen is an Advisor in the Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy Directorate of the DG for Economics, Statistics and Research of the Bank of Italy. Previously, he was a Research Fellow in the Economic Research and International Relations Area of the Bank of Italy. His research spans a wide range of topics, including asset pricing, asymmetric information in decentralized markets and causal evaluation of the effects of monetary policy. He holds a PhD from the Stockholm School of Economics and a BA (Hons) from the University of Cambridge.
