Thierry Tressel is a Senior Economist in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund. His research areas include international finance and trade, macroeconomics and financial intermediation, political economy, and the macroeconomics of foreign aid. He joined the IMF in 2002, and has worked in the Research Department and in the Asia and Pacific Department. Prior to joining the IMF, he was a Consultant at the OECD and the World Bank between 2000-2002. He is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique (Economics, Physics), obtained a PhD at DELTA (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris) in 2001, and was a post-doc at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
