Thomas Hertel

Thomas Hertel is Distinguished Professor at Purdue University, where he teaches and conducts research on the economy-wide impacts of trade and environmental policies. Dr. Hertel is also the founder and Executive Director of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) which now encompasses 10,000 researchers in over 150 countries around the world. His recent research has focused on the impacts of climate change on agriculture and poverty, as well as the consequences of climate policy on global land use, food and agricultural markets. He is currently serving as President of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association.
