Tobias Rasmussen

Senior Economist, Middle East and Central Asia Department at International Monetary Fund

Tobias Rasmussen is a Senior Economist in the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department where he is Mission Chief for Oman. Since joining the IMF in 2001, he has also worked on countries in the IMF’s Western Hemisphere and Asia-Pacific Departments. He holds a PhD in Economics from Aarhus University in Denmark, a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, and has been a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University. His research has focused on natural resource management and applied general equilibrium modeling and has been published in journals such as Review of Economic Dynamics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
