Ujal Singh Bhatia

Formerly India’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative at World Trade Organization

Ambassador Bhatia Singh joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1974, holding several senior positions in provincial administration in Orissa State between 1976 and 1995. He served as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry between 1995-2000, in which capacity he handled a number of bilateral, regional and multilateral trade negotiations. From 2004 to his retirement in 2010, he served as India’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the WTO in Geneva.
