Ulrich Klüh

Secretary General at German Council of Economic Experts

Uli Klüh is currently the Secretary General of the German Council of Economic Experts (GCEE). Prior to this position, he was an Economist at the International Monetary Fund’s African as well as Monetary and Capital Markets Department, where he mainly worked on central bank and financial stability issues. He is a former student of Goethe University in Frankfurt and holds a Ph.D.in Economics from Ludwig-Maximilians University (Munich). He has written and edited books and articles on topics ranging from auction design to financial safety nets, banking crises, exchange rate regimes and central banking. His main areas of research are macroeconomics and central banking, financial regulation and stability, international finance, risk management, and governance arrangements for financial surveillance.
