Umut Akovali

Umut Akovali is a Post-doc researcher in the Department of Economics at Koc University. His research interests are in the fields of time-series econometrics, financial networks, and systemic risk. He recently received his PhD in Economics from the same department at Koc University. Prior to his PhD studies ar Koc University, he worked as a risk management specialist at the Istanbul Stock Exchange Clearing and Settlement Bank Inc., Turkey. He has recently worked as a researcher at Koc University-Tusiad Economic Research Forum. He visited the Department of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in 2018. He holds a BSc. degree from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, Turkey and a master’s degree from Galatasaray University, Istanbul, Turkey.
