Vanessa Gunnella is a Consultant at the European Central Bank. She started working in the DG Economic Developments in July 2015,after she received her PhD in Economics from University of Bologna. She holds a master in Economics from University of Rome La Sapienza.
Her research focusses on econometric methodologies (panel data and multivariate analysis) applied to the fields of International Economics and Macroeconomics. Currently, her research and policy work investigates the effects of Global Value Chains on real activity, business cycle synchronization, prices and the sensitivity of trade to demand and exchange rates. Moreover she is also extensively involved in estimating the impact of protectionism on trade and welfare.
