Vincenzo Atella is Professor of Economics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and Head of the Department of Economics and Finance. He is also an adjunct associate of the Center for Health Policy at Stanford University, where he has been a visiting professor several times, and a past president of the Italian Health Economic Association (AIES). He has coordinated several European projects and received financial support from the European Science Foundation. Recently he had an experience as CEO of SOSE spa, a public firm owned by MEF and Bank of Italy, which represents the methodological partner of the Italian public finance administration. His research activity focuses on applied economics, with a special emphasis on the health care sector. The results of his research activity have been published in several international refereed journals as well as books. Recently, he has published two books on the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic (EGEA and Academic Press).
