William Connell is currently a member of the Chief Economist team at the European Commission's DG GROW. Since joining the European institutions in 2019, he has actively contributed to the work of Commission's DG ECFIN and DG GROW. William's primary research interests revolve around international trade, industrial organization, global value chains, trade policy, and firm-level analysis. He holds a Master's degree from the Paris School of Economics in France and obtained his PhD in International Economics from KU Leuven in Belgium.
