William Powers

International Economist at U.S. International Trade Commission

William M. Powers is an International Economist at the U.S. International Trade Commission, where he provides policy analysis for Congress and the US Trade Representative. He holds a B.A. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan. His recent research has looked at value-added trade in East Asian supply chains, rules of origin, and sectoral gravity modeling. He has also worked for the Council of Economic Advisers and taught at Albion College.
