Xavier Gabaix is the Pershing Square Professor of Economics and Finance at Harvard. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from the Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris) and obtained his PhD in economics from Harvard University in 1999. His research focuses on asset pricing, macroeconomics, executive compensation, and the causes and consequences of seemingly irrational economic behavior. His research has been published in many journals, including the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Nature. He is a Fellow of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Affiliate of the Center for Economic Policy Research.
