Yannis M. Ioannides, the Max and Herta Neubauer Chair and Professor in Economics at Tufts University since 1995, received his undergraduate degree from the National Technical University, Athens, Greece in 1968, his MS in 1970 and in 1974 his PhD, both from Stanford University. Prior to Tufts he taught at Brown University, Boston University, Athens University of Economics and Business, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he also served as Department Head from 1989-1995. His current research interests combine social economics and macroeconomics, with special emphasis on economic growth, corruption and inequality, social interactions and networks, urban macro, and housing markets. He is a corresponding member of the Academy of Athens, and the author of more than 100 scientific papers.
