Yoko Konishi

Senior Fellow at RIETI

Yoko Konishi has served as a senior fellow at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) since 2008. Prior to RIETI, she was a postdoctoral fellow for research abroad at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and a visiting scholar at the Cowles Foundation in Yale University from 2009-2011. Dr. Konishi received a Ph.D. in Economics from Nagoya University in 2003. Subsequently, as a postdoctoral research fellow of JSPS, she studied at Kyoto University from 2003-2006.Her other positions included serving as a visiting scholar at the Department of Economics, Stanford University from 2005-2006 and an assistant professor at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University from 2006-2008. Her research field is in applied microeconometrics, where she focuses on the gap between empirical results and economic models due to misspecification problems. Her research target is measuring productivity in the manufacturing and service industries.
