Zack Cooper

Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Economics at Yale University

Zack Cooper is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Economics at Yale University and he is a Resident Fellow at the school's Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS). Professor Cooper's work focuses on understanding the economics of health care. In particular, he is interested understanding differences in hospital productivity within and across countries, examining the impact of competition in hospital and insurance markets and studying the factors that influence hospital pricing.Cooper is a frequent contributor to the popular press, including appearances on ABC, CBS, NPR, Sky News and the BBC. In addition, his research has been cited in the Economist, the Financial Times, the Washington Post, Le Monde, and the Guardian. Professor Cooper did his undergraduate work at the University of Chicago and received his PhD from the London School of Economics, where he remains a Faculty Associate at the school's Centre for Economic Performance.
