The Location of Economic Activity

Economic agents - whether individuals or firms - are not bound by national frontiers in choosing the best locations for economic activity. Economists have for long sought to understand regional and spatial issues but 'economic geography' has recently aroused a new intellectual excitement, partly inspired by this changing political and economic environment. This volume contains the papers presented at a CEPR conference held in Vigo in December 1993. The conference brought together many of the best researchers from around the world who discussed papers on a wide variety of issues within the locational and regional economics field.
