The Economic Consequences of the East

This volume contains the papers presented at a CEPR conference hosted by the Deutsche Bundesbank and organized by Peter Bofinger and Rudiger Dornbusch. Chapters cover recent experiences and the political economy of the process. They also consider the role of economic policies and in particular, the role of trade, monetary policy, financial markets and the European Community.
